Last Friday, June 1st, the first collaborative research project between the Barça Innovation Hub and the MIT Sports Lab ended. The project was led by two professors from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, Annette Hoso and Christina Chase, and the work team was made up of a group of eight students from different disciplines (Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration), as well as one from the Barça Innovation Hub’s Knowledge Areas (Sports Analysis and Technology).
Through different data analysis techniques, the research project focused on analyzing and categorizing the different ways in which La Liga teams deploy their attacks.
